Why I write these…
If you’ve already read a little about me on the About page, these articles are where I start to explore things in more depth. I began writing them partly to understand things a bit more myself, but also to help people understand autism. Not just the textbook version, but what it actually feels like in the workplace, in leadership, in parenting and in life.
Each post is written from my own perspective, through my eyes, to share the challenges, the strengths and the reality of navigating the world as an autistic professional. It’s not about having all the answers. It’s about sharing my experience in a way that might help others feel seen, better understood or just a little less alone.
The articles explore different parts of autistic life that are often difficult to explain from the outside. I write about masking, burnout, decision making, social confusion, energy levels and the pressure of navigating workplaces and everyday life while trying to appear as though everything is manageable.
If you are looking for more information or support around autism, the National Autistic Society provides guidance, resources and support for autistic people and their families.
